The RxScan Ultra BedSide provides a point-of-care NDC # barcode scanning BPOC error prevention solution. It is designed to work with cart fill systems or in small institutions where the cost of automation and additional staff is prohibitive. The system provides a three-way documentation and verification process. It documents the caregiver, patient and drug and verifies that correct medication has been chosen for the patient.
  
The RxScan Ultra BedSide in its simplest form captures information about the medications a patient is to receive by scanning bar codes printed on the patient MAR. It then uses this information at the bedside to compare the medication approved for the patient to the patient wristband identification to the NDC bar code on the drug being prepared for administration to the patient.  It minimizes medication errors and promotes the 5 R’s. It enhances patient confidence and safety and nurse satisfaction.
